Lookfly Pitchside Shop at UKU Nationals This Weekend

Lookfly will be at UKU Nationals this weekend in Southampton with the Pitchside shop.

As a part of our continued mission to be kinder to the environment and to launch our upcoming line of premium ultimate gear called “New Life”, Lookfly will be will be running a recycling point at the Pitchside shop to collect your empty drinks bottles. “New Life” is not only a technical fabric made with 100% recycled plastic bottles (and other PET) generated by UK and mainland Europe-based recycling centres, it is manufactured in Britain ensuring a low carbon footprint in its production cycle.

Lookfly Secures Sponsorship Deal With World Famous Ultimate Team - Furious George

UK based ultimate Frisbee gear supplier Lookfly join forces across the pond with Canadian 3 times UPA winners Furious George.

Ilkeston, Derbyshire, UK, 21st July 2010 – Lookfly are proud to announce their sponsorship of Vancouver BC based Furious George, one of Canada’s most famous open teams. Furious George, who are three times WUGC winners, 3 times UPA champions and 7 times Canadian Champions are considered great role models to many players in the sport and are recognized as one of the best Ultimate teams in the World.

Furious George turned to Lookfly, who are based in the UK for their team uniforms after learning about their ethical and eco-friendly manufacturing policies. Lookfly have consistently made choices to keep their team uniform assembly local to Lookfly HQ. Lookfly Director Steve Giguere comments, “it’s only when you keep things local that you can guarantee welfare levels for employees and reduce your company carbon footprint as much as possible”.

Lookfly have chosen Furious George to be the flagship for their upcoming line of premium ultimate gear made from 100% recycled plastic bottles (PET). Over the last 12 months, Lookfly has spent much time investigating and testing several examples of recycled yarn in order to find one that demonstrates the same characteristics as polyester yarns produced with virgin raw materials. Steve Giguere continues, “There are more and more examples of 50% and 100% recycled fabrics coming to market, the majority of which make compromises on performance, feel, weight and durability. Finally, after months of research and testing, we have developed a 100% recycled fabric that meets an ultimate players needs”.

Speaking on behalf of Furious George, team Captain Morgan Hibbert says, “we all unanimously agree that it is a no-brainer to work with Lookfly this season” He continues “everyone is really pumped … and we hope we can increase [their] portfolio here in North America and internationally”.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Lookfly will be creating fully sublimated shirts for Furious George in 100% recycled fabric (named by Lookfly as “New Life”) with shorts and accessories such as hats, hooded tops and wristbands.
